Working Group II on E-government and Administrative Simplification
1st High Level Seminar on e-Procurement
On the Invitation
of the Italian Government(Department
for Public Administration and Department
for Innovation and Technologies, with
the collaboration of FORMEZ and the sponsorship
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and
in collaboration with the OECD, the High
Level Seminar on E-procurement and Simplification
was held in Naples in the framework
of the activities of the GfD Working
Group II on E-Government and Administrative
Simplification. The Seminar brings together
e-procurement experts from Arab Countries,
Italy and invited OECD countries to share
strategic advice and practical know-how
on implementing e-procurement systems
and simplifying administrative processes.
Formez activities are closely related
with the project “Report on Professional
Skills for Internationalization in light
of European Cohesion”.
The Meeting of The
Directors of Training and Administrative
Innovation Centres in Europe and the Arab
World - 9/10 May 2005
The goal of
the invitation only workshop, organized
as a result of a request from ARADO -
Arab Administrative Development Organization,
is to exchange experiences in administrative
training and innovation between Arab And
European centres working in these sectors.

Sustainable tourism and best practices in
the western Mediterranean for the creation
of a tourism network - 21/22 March 2005
Formez-C.A.I.MED,
in conjunction with the Bocconi University
- Masters degree in Tourism Economics
– organised its first conference
involving those international, national
and regional institutions, sector operators
and specialists committed to working for
an integrated tourism industry in the
western Mediterranean, informed by sustainability
and cooperation.
Public administration innovation: budget, accounting and
Control systems. Europe and the Mediterranean: comparison
and avenues for interaction
The seminar on "public budget,
accountancy and control systems"
was held on December 1-2, with the
aim of providing a comparative analysis
of experiences in national accounting
and budget reforms in the Euro-Mediterranean
Areas. The seminar has been organized
as a joint venture, as part of the
projects of Formez' Research and Development,
and the agreement between Formez and
the Campania Region department responsible
for Budget, General Accounts,
Finance and Levies, Estate and Heritage,
and Relations with Mediterranean Countries
. It is designed to form part
of the coursework for the Level II
Master "Experts in Campania Region
Policy in the Mediterranean Area".The
two-day seminar, organised by CAIMED
and FORMEZ, featured presentations
by some of the leading experts in
budgeting and national accounts from
Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom,
Spain, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco,
Serbia and Montenegro, Macedonia and
Turkey.
